Byron Lutes, P.Eng. - President & CEO 

Byron Lutes is a professional engineer with over 26 years of industry experience. He was appointed President of the Corporation in 2008. Previously, Mr. Lutes was the Vice President, Operations with Mancal Energy, a position he held for five years. Prior to that, he was the Vice President, Engineering and Production for Hunt Oil Company of Canada and Vice President, Engineering for its predecessor, Newport Petroleum Corporation. Prior to his appointment as Vice President at Newport in 1997, he held various positions including Manager, Exploitation. Mr. Lutes spent his first eight years in the industry at Suncor Energy in various engineering and marketing roles, including an on-site operational role at the Fort McMurray oil sands plant. Mr. Lutes graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering.

Mr. Lutes is active within the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) as a member of the Board of Governors, Chairman of the Aboriginal Executive Policy Group and a member of the Oilsands Executive Policy Group. Mr. Lutes is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA).

Howard Bolinger, C.A. - CFO 

Howard Bolinger is a chartered accountant with over 17 years experience in assisting public and private companies with both financial and consulting services. Mr. Bolinger has considerable finance experience with public companies, including his past position as Chief Financial Officer of Proventure Income Fund, a public income trust listed. Prior to that, Mr. Bolinger was Chief Financial Officer of both Cervus LP, a public limited partnership, and Cervus Corporation. Mr. Bolinger is a graduate from the University of Calgary.

Glenn Miller - Vice President, Land & Regulatory Affairs 

Glen Miller is a petroleum landman with over 18 years of experience in land negotiations, regulatory, stakeholder and environmental issues. He has been with the Corporation since 2008 and has previously worked for large and medium oil and gas companies in various land positions. His experience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin ranges from deep sour gas projects in the foothills and coal bed methane in central Alberta, to conventional oil and gas projects throughout northern Alberta, northeast British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Mr. Miller has also worked on offshore exploration projects in Nova Scotia for Hunt Oil Company the Mackenzie Delta and Central Mackenzie Valley for MGM Energy as their General Manager, Regulatory & Community Affairs.

Mr. Miller has several years of experience conducting consultation and negotiations with First Nation/Aboriginal groups throughout Alberta, northeast British Columbia, Northwest Territories and Nova Scotia. He is a graduate of the Olds College Land Agent Program and holds a Professional Surface Landman (PSL) designation from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen (CAPL).

Wayne Beatty, P.Eng. - Vice President, Corporate Development 

Wayne Beatty has 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily in the areas of reservoir engineering, reserve evaluations and project economics. He joined the Corporation in 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Beatty was Manager, Reserves and Special Projects at Grizzly Resources where he was responsible for conducting all reservoir engineering and project economic evaluations for the company's domestic and an offshore project in West Africa. Mr. Beatty held Senior Exploitation Engineer positions at PrimeWest Energy Trust, Hunt Oil Canada, PetroCanada, Amerada Hess Canada, and Norcen Energy Resources. He held the position of Manager, Exploitation at Newport Petroleum Corp. prior to acquisition of the company by Hunt Oil. Mr. Beatty has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary.

Glen Pernitsky - Area Manager, Senlac

Glen Pernitsky has 28 years of industry experience. He has 17 years of experience in SAGD operations, including 14 in Senlac in a senior on-site leadership role. He also has 15 years of experience as Chief Steam Engineer with wide exposure to various thermal techniques.

Darren Meidinger, Area Manager, McKay

Darren Meidinger has 26 years of total operating experience, including 20 years in operations and management. He was recently the Operations Manager at Suncor's Firebag SAGD project.

Tim Bibby, BComm, CET - Manager, Operations

Tim Bibby has over 10 years of oil and gas experience. As Manager of Drilling and Completions, he is responsible for all drilling and completions activities in our Athabasca oil sands, Senlac and Red Earth properties. Prior to joining the Corporation in 2011, Mr. Bibby was the Senior Drilling Coordinator at Connacher Oil and Gas Ltd. and was involved in Connacher's SAGD and conventional drilling and completions operations. Prior to that, Mr. Bibby worked as a consultant in both Calgary and in the field.

Mr. Bibby has a Bachelor of Commerce from Athabasca University and a Petroleum Engineering Technology diploma from SAIT. Mr. Bibby is a member of the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta, the Canadian Heavy Oil Association, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
